No, this isn’t about the rich and famous.  Alien Earths Online has a section on Star and Planet Formation with wonderful images and slideshows. It also include a Planet Families activity:

Try to build the perfect solar system. See how different planets react with one another, and see how some planets are important in keeping the solar system stable. Play alone, or team up with other online players!

Other sections include Planet Quest and the Search for Life. Each section includes an overview, images, slideshow, and interactive activites.

In DESE’s Instructional Technology Newsline newsletter for this month, I read about a site created by a MO teacher featuring resources for teaching about Missouri’s Ecosystems, Climate, Endangered Species, and more.

Missouri’s Ecosystems. Melissa Anderson, Chillicothe School District, has created this web resource list for students studying Missouri’s Ecosystems. Find information to answer questions such as: How does Missouri compare to the ecosystems around the world? Do they have the same climates, plants, and animals? Look through this list of resources to uncover some new information about Missouri’s living creatures. There are also activity links for this topic.
